The hardest part of meditation no one seems to talk about.
Hi my friend,
Believe it or not, one of the hardest parts of meditation isn’t starting — it’s staying.
No one really talks about how vulnerable it feels to be still and choose to continue to stay inward.
To sit with yourself when everything inside says, “just stop”
To breathe through the discomfort, the restlessness, the resistance.
To stay when it feels like nothing is happening… or like too much is.
Sometimes you’ll close your eyes and expect peace, only to meet a storm.
Other times, it’s the silence that feels unbearable.
But each time you sit down to meditate, a quiet invitation arrives:
Will you stay? Or will you leave?
I hope you stay.
Stay with the breath that anchors you in this moment.
Stay with the emotions rising to the surface — they just want to be seen.
Stay with the sensations in your body, releasing the tension you don't need to hold.
Stay with your heart, no matter how guarded or tender it feels.
Because here’s what most people don’t know:
It takes about 8–10 minutes for the body and mind to begin to settle.
That’s when the shift happens.
The shift into presence.
The shift into the observing mind.
The shift into compassion — where you stop judging and start being.
You deserve to feel that shift.
You are worthy of the stillness on the other side of staying.
So next time you sit down to meditate, and the choice arises…
Choose to stay.
And if you’ve felt that shift before — that moment of pure loving awareness — I’d love to hear what it felt like for you. Just hit reply and let me know.🤎
you are worthy of the time
Journal Prompts for noticing the shift 📓
When I notice discomfort during meditation, what is my first instinct — and what might happen if I chose to stay instead?
What does “the shift” feel like in my body, breath, or mind when I allow myself to truly settle?
What part of me is asking to be witnessed right now — without needing to fix or change it?
