From my experience, most of us (including me) try to combat anxiety by judging ourselves, trying to drown out the feelings, and by attempting to be so busy we forget about it altogether.

Oh, and our anxiety shows up in different ways…spiraling emotions, low self-esteem, feeling overwhelmed, getting lost in the “what ifs”… these can all be examples of our anxiety showing up in our lives.

When we run from these feelings, it only makes our anxiety worse.

And as it gets worse, we truly miss out on the special moments that are happening each day. It makes our anxiety and the emotions that come with it feel like a cycle that will never end.

It took years of struggling (and still struggling) with my anxiety and low self worth before I finally found something that helped.

I found I needed to do the opposite of avoiding and trying to run away from my anxiety.

I needed to lean into it, be curious, and learn about it.

As I learned about my anxiety, I also learned about meditation and mindfulness and how I can use these tools to keep anxiety from ruling my life.
